Assignment(1): Should exhibitions of bad public behaviour be published on the internet?

I think that people should post videos of bad public behaviour on the internet.

Supporting: I believe so because people only when they are shamed somewhere like the internet will they then learn their mistake and correct it. Without publishing their bad behaviour, they'll never feel the shame and the need to turn that to right. At the same time, it serves as a lesson and a warning to others, so they do not commit the same mistake again for fear that their actions will be put on the internet for all to see. It is also a medium where people can see whether what they are doing is correct and if it isn't, then this is the consequence they will face. So, it acts like a moral lesson for not just the offender, but the public themselves.

Counter: But, then again, it is not morally right to publish videos or pictures of others without their permission. This is an infringement of privacy and you will not like it if others did that to you. This might tarnish their reputation also. This action of publishing bad behaviour on the internet might take its effect on the teenagers in the sense that the more morally incorrect an action is, the more the teenagers who are currently in their rebellious age, would want to do for the thrill of it all. But, if it was not published at all, perhaps these teenagers would not have gotten the idea at all.

Final stand: All in all, I think it is okay to publish bad public behaviour on the internet.
